3. Sync music with YouTube Music

Like iCloud on Apple iPhones, you can store and share music between your devices by storing them in the cloud. If you are not familiar with how this works, the basic idea is that you store music on an online server, and when you want to access the music, you can do so from any device using your Google account.

YouTube Music makes an appearance in our list because you can upload music from your computer to your cloud server, then access the music from your Android device. For this method, you can use YouTube Music in your internet browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.).

Let's take a look at how to upload music to YouTube Music...

  1. Open your internet browser and go to: https://music.youtube.com/
  2. Click "Sign In" in the top-right corner of the window. Enter your Google account details to sign in with YouTube Music (you can create an account here if you don't already have one).
  3. Click your account profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen to access the menu.
  4. Choose 'Upload Music'.
  5. Select the music from your computer and drag and drop it into the upload window.
  6. Click Open to begin uploading your chosen music to your YouTube Music account.
  7. Your uploaded music will appear in your Library > Songs > Uploads.

Once your music has been successfully uploaded, you'll be able to access it from any device using your YouTube Music account! For example, you can open the YouTube Music app on your Android device and play your saved music from Library > Songs > Uploads!

Update: Used to use Google Play Music?

Google Play Music has since been discontinued and migrated to YouTube Music. Check out our guide on how to transfer your music from the Google Play app.

4. Sync music from computer to Android via cloud solutions

Similar to the YouTube Music point above, we can follow this method for other cloud service providers such as Google Drive, iCloud and OneDrive. Simply upload your music from your computer to the cloud storage, get the relevant app on your Android, and access your music from the cloud on your device!

Take care not to accidentally upload duplicate tracks to your cloud storage. Cloud services usually charge for more space, so be sure to clean out your cloud storage regularly to save yourself space and money!
